Building Social Research Capacities in Higher Education Institutions in Lao PDR and Malaysia (BRECIL)

Summary

On 15th to 17th May 2019, BRECIL WP project coordinator Professor Andreas Stoffers from the University of Applied Languages SDI Munich/Germany introduced the BRECIL project in a forum “EU-Higher Education Cooperation between Germany and Southeast Asia” in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The event was sponsored by Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Germany, aiming to promote research cooperation and capacity building efforts between ASEAN and German partner universities. The three-day event included onsite-visits to Vietnamese universities, international networking activities and presentations. The forum attracted more than 20 German universities and 80 representatives from various ASEAN universities mainly from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.

On the second day of the forum, Prof. Andreas Stoffers has presented the objectives and good practices of the BRECIL project to further enhance collaboration and networking in Erasmus+ projects. Feedback received was good and a number of participants expressed interest and wanted to know more about the application process and governance of the project.
