Summary of activity:

The first BRECIL Steering Committee Meeting was held via Skype with representatives from each partner university present. The purpose of the meeting was to brief the committee members of the latest project updates (management and finance), achievements since the kickoff meeting, contingency planning and future roadmap directions.

The publicity received on the kickoff meeting, (which was organised by the National University of Laos (NUOL)) by news outlets in Laos (namely Vientiane Times and Lao National Television) left a good impression on the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency or EACEA. The consortium expressed its appreciation to NUOL for being an excellent host.

During the steering committee meeting, several issues on expected deliverables post-KO meeting and deadlines were highlighted. Issues related to financial management (such as payments and pre-financing, staff cost, travel cost and cost of stay, remuneration modalities) were also discussed.

It was also agreed amongst the consortium members that the steering committee would meet once every month with each partner university taking turns to produce the minutes of meeting. The next meeting will be held on May 30th 2018 with UUM taking the role of producing the minutes.
