Souphanouvong University (SU), established in accordance with the Prime Minister Decree No.: 169/PM dated November 4, 2003, is located in Luang Prabang province.
The goal of SU is to educate and train skilled manpower for socio-economic development of Northern provinces of Lao PDR, and for the nation-wide as well.
SU main activities are to:
i. Provide higher education at bachelor degree programme, of 27 programmes, students mainly from eight northern provinces of the Lao PDR;
ii. Conduct academic research for help improve socio‐economic development of our neighbourhood communities in the northern areas of the Lao PDR;
iii. Cooperate with local and international agencies for academic cooperation.
